- (continued from previous page)it was seven or eight shillings per lb. and it was only at Christmas or on some speiceal feast (feast) that the people got tea and they got only one or two ounces at a time. The vessels used for drinking were called noggins and were made of wood and were shaped like this

Sometimes the people eat their food of a round piece of wood hollowed in the middle and was called a "platter" but these were not often used as sometimes when made of the wrong wood the would tast the food.
At Easter there was alway eggs eaten and games were played.
