- The local tailors in our district are Mr. Clerkin and Mr. Reilly. They do not stock the cloth, but the people bring the cloth to them. There is no cloth spun in our district.Shirts are not made in my home. The local women knit socks and stockings.There are no spinning wheels in the district now. On local holidays the local people wear their best clothes. To funerals the local people wear black hats and black ties.The tailors use scissors, needles, pins, thread, thimbles, a tape measure, and a smoothing iron, in their work.
