- One fine moon lit night some tomboys were roudying around the Church crossing as it is called in this district The roudying came to such a pitch that the boys began to fight between themselves as they had a little too much poteen in them. Just as the fight was as its highest a noise came from a fort which is above the crossing as if the earth had opened and up on a stone beside the boys jumped a big black dog and from his eyes fire spurted. The tomboys ran for their lives and I need scarcely say that they never collected on the Church crossing again.
