- In Lixnaw there was a man drawing hay into a stall and he was smoking a fag and he threw the fag longside the hay and the hay began to light and it burned all the hay.
There were two men in Finug and they went out in a boat in the river and the boat sank. One of the men came in walking under the water. The other had a bucket on his arm and it drowned him. The man that got drowned was Gach Murphy and the man that escaped was Martin Whelan. This happened about five years ago.- Collector
