  1. There are very few old schools now. We now have national schools, colleges and technical schools. Long ago people were taught in barns or hedge schools. There were only a few schools in each village. There was a school or barn at Mr. James Keanes. The name of the teacher was John Gannon. He slept at night in the house. The people of the village came every night to the old barn.
