- (continued from previous page)now and the place is neglected and there is scarcely anything left to remind us of its former grandeur. Here a member of the French family lived. It was a great old Galway family of which the present Lord French is a descendant. Three graves with three ancient tombstones mark the place where the last of the Ballyforan branch of the family were buried in the grounds surrounding the church.
