    When making polish they would put an oven full of straw by the fire and put a lighting match in it then it would take fire. When it would burned they would put a cup of milk in it.When it would be a start soaking the milk.Then they would put it in a closed box where no air could at it.
    They would leave it there till it would be stuck in one lump so that it would stick to their shoes.If they did not shine it just after putting it up it would turn white.
