    Gipsies are often seen in a lane-way a few miles from my home. Margaret's Lane is the name of the place, it leads from the Main Monaghan to Cootehill road across country to Ashfield Road. These gipsies live in cavarans, they have many horses and they toil earnestly at tin making, mat making. From the sake of these wares the make an honest livihood.
    "Daddy the Rag" is a familiar figure in this locality.
