Ar an leathanach seo
- The townland in which I live is called Elvey. Three families reside in it namely, Wright's, McVin's, and ours. Twenty persons inhabit the townland, and these derive their living chiefly from farming.
Two of the houses are situated close to the road which leads from Dublin to Derry, and they are both slated. The land is very hilly but fairly good, and most of it is fit for agriculture, part of which is under labour at present. There are sixty acres in Elvey, of which my father owns twenty-six.
A river runs through part of the townland.
