Storytellers nowadays are very scarce, and very few stories are related during the long winter nights. One of the greatest storytellers was a man called Brian McGartland who lived about fifty years ago. He lived in the townland of Corry. He used to visit the houses around the district, and amuse the people by relating several stories to them. Some of the stories were entitled "Dip in Fog" and "Pick in clay".
One of the greatest mowers is Patrick McKenna who could mow a two acre field in one day. He is often employed by farmers during the summer or harvest.
One of the greatest fighters was a man named James McKenna who lives in the townland of Corry. He won many prizes in fighting contests.
