   The old people said they landed some place on the White Mountain over at the Black Stairs.

   Up to recent times men used never anything on their feet but clogs. Most of the women used to go in their bare feet and their sons and daughters also. Every night before these people went to bed they washed their feet, as they were not allowed to go to
