  1. 1 Sores and Swellings - Ointment made from the Marsh Mallow, and applied liberally.
    2. Corns - A slice of a raw onion applied to the corn will remove it in one night.
    3 Colds - Take sips of the water in which turnips have been boiled, and to which some salt has been added.
    4 Pains - A woman who still lives near Mallow, Co Cork, was cured of her pains, by eating raw, bit by bit, a sheep's heart.

  2. 1. Headache - Boil the "Blessed Virgin's Herb", (which grows in a sheltered place by fences, has a long slender stalk, and white flowers in month of May) and drink the juice
    2. Bruises - Apply "Alder" leaves to the wounds.
    3. Poisoned Cut - Allow the dog to lick the wound, and it will not become septic.
    4. Boils and Ulcers - Boil the weed, which grows by the river, and is called locally "Meach an Dá hAbha", and rub the juice to the affected parts.
    5. Kidney Disease - Eat Parsley with plenty of salt.
