    My Home District
    My home is in the Townland of Lorrha, in Lorrha Parish in the Barony of Lower Ormond.
    There are thirty families living in Lorrha, and the approximate number of people is one hundred and five, and the number of old people is only three. Meara and Kennedy are the most common names around here.
    The majority of the houses are slated, but there are zinc roofs on some. These houses were formerly thatched.
    Lorrha is now only a village but in former times it was a big town, but there is no trace of the houses to be seen.
    In former times many people emigrated to America, Australia and England. There are still many young people going to England. The land around Lorrha is very good.
