- Long ago the time of the Penial laws, Priests were not let say mass in a Chapel, They used to say mass in woods and every Sunday people used to come to hear mass, That time anyone who would tell where a priest was he would get twenty pounds or who-ever would tell where a Bishop was he would get fifty pounds. Here around there were many masses said in a field called the poll dóimhin, Every Sunday the people used to come to hear mass, It used to be said on a big rock and it was surrounded with bryers and old bushes. The soldiers were trying to find out where the masses used to. They asked several people, and offered fifty or sixty pounds to whoever would tell them. Every Sunday they were watching but they could'nt find it out, One Sunday they came to the place while mass was going on. The people heard them coming and they ran away but the priest stayed there to finish the mass. he was about to leave when he was seen, He ran for his life to a place called Killcorney and he was going into one of the caves when one of them(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
