    was Thomas Callan who was a member of Parliament for Co. Louth in the '80's. When he died Owen Neary bought it and his son is the present owner.
    A few years ago an aeroplane was circling round Cookstown and it struck a tree and crashed to the ground. There was no one injured, but the aeroplane was broken and it had to be taken away by lorries. In days gone by there used to be games of football played in the fields around Cookstown.
    There was a man who lived in Cookstown one time. His name was Thomas Berrie and he was going across a field called the Mullanure and as it was dark he could not find his way. He shouted but no one heard him, and he had to stay there till morning.
