- There is a fairy cave in Lisrenny where the queen of the fairies used to live. Here is a story about her:-There was a herd, named Patrick Corcoran, who used to work in Lisrenny.One night, as he was watching his flock, he met a beautiful woman not knowing who she was he saluted her and she spoke to him. She used to walk with him every night when he was watching. Every night when she leaving she used to say to him " I'll meet you still at the old mill, or at the cave near the cárde mór". She was such a beautiful lady that he thought she was visiting in Lisrenny,* because she told him that she sat unseen in Lisrenny parlour. One night she told him she was the queen of the fairies, and that she was in love with him. This kept going on for a year, and in the end he got afraid of her.* The residence of Filgate family, owners of 1200 or 1500 acres of land.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
