    It is of Doric order 47' high surmounted by the Duke of Cumberland 7 1/2' high. The statue was procured and set up at the expense of Sir Lawrence Parsons of the time.
    Erected by Cheere of London who executed the monument in memory of the Earl of Cork on the N. side of altar in Christ's Church, Dublin.
    There was formerly a Fosse with water surrounded the pillar the water was conveyed to it from a channel from Birr river between the town and Syngefield.
