- The animals on our farm are - a horse, three cows, eight cattle, a goat, a sow and two pigs, the domestic animals are a dog and three cats,The cows on our farm have names - they are, 'Whitehead,' 'Speckle' and 'Browne.' The byre in which the cows live has a loft, there is a manger in front of the cows, also a place to store hay, the horse also lives in it, it is a thatched house. The cows are tied with chains, but the horse is tied with a rope. The chains which are of iron are bought in shops. There is no emblem hung in the byre to bring luck. I once heard a story which said if you have music in the byre the cows will give more milk.Our horse is clipped once a year. There are no famous horses in our district.When we have a litter of pigs the smallest are brought into the(continues on next page)
