- There was an old poet called "Fifer Traynor" who live din upper Glassleck. He was called "Fifer" because he used to play a fife and teach fife and drum bands. He died about thirty years ago. A neighbour of his named Fiddly Tully had a Jennet which he sold to a man named Montgommery to draw patients to the old fever hospital. He made a song about the Jennet, and here it is.
"Farewell to Dhuish mountain, where I spent many a happy day.
And if poor Fiddly had his will sure he wasnt hard to please. For he never over loaded me in either slip or cart.
But he sold me to Montgommery and that's what broke my heart."
