- This game is mostly played by boys on Summer evenings. You cut five sticks about six inches long. The ends must be level, so that they will stand on the road. They are put standing in the shape of a diamond with one in the centre. The centre one counts ten, and each of the others counts five.
A stand or "spud" is marked with a large stone about four or five yards from where the skittles are standing. Three long sticks are also cut. They are for throwing. You stand at the spud and throw the three sticks at the skittles.
Whatever number you knock, you count them up - fives or ten. Then the next gets his turn. At the beginning a number is settled on to win the game - generally a hundred.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
