- These are the names of the farm animals the cows, calves, horses, goats, and sheep. The domestic animals are cats and dogs.To call the cows we say "teig". In this district the cows are tied with chains round their necks. The place where the cows live is called a byre. Some people tie their cows with "bales". A bale is made by putting a stake into the ground and putting another on hinges beside it. The cows head is put in between the stakes and the hinged stake is pegged into place. When we want to call the hens we say chucky, chucky. When we want to call the turkeys we say pee, pee, and when we want to call the ducks we say "wheet", wheet". When we want to call the calves we say suck, suck.
