    An herb of rib grass broken up on a bit of timber or a stool with a hammer or mallet and mixed with a bit of unsalted butter will cure a sore or a cut. A cure for calf-pox or wild-fire is to clean the hearth stone and put a fasting spit on the hearth and be rubbing the spit until it is like a paste and rub it on the sore for nine mornings.
    A mixture of carbolic soap and some sugar will cure boils.
