    These rough ballads and many others were written solely to perpetuate local history and tradition. Coughlan of Rathrush, etc are founded on fact not on mith. They formed a series entitled "The Stories My Father Told to Me". They were never published. You can use them as you will, má's fiú leat é.

  2. A young man named Woods (still living) came to Father Patrick(1) O Donnell, P.P. of Doon about 40 years ago and expressed a wish to become Catholic. As he was under 18 years of age the Protestant Church Body took legal proceedings against the P.P. The process-server found it absolutely impossible to serve the necessary document on him.
    Finally he arrived in Doon when the priest was hearing and entered the box as if he
