  1. Straw
The people manufactured a great many things from straw long ago. They used straw for making mattresses. They also used straw for making straw mats and straw ropes. They made the mats by plaiting the straw and made the ropes by twisting the straw. They also made hats for summer with it.
    Rushes
They also manufactured a great many things from rushes. They used them for making candles and they used them by putting the rushes in the middle of them. They made beautiful sun hats from rushes also and sometimes made mats.
