  1. October the first it was my design
    In the sweet fair of Trim to sell my swine;
    She was fat, fair, and complete, was my little pig,
    Oh, you could drive her with a bit of a sprig!
    Thirty shillings! I asked--now was it too big
    For that dear little, sweet little, fat little pig?

    After the sale up came a smart dame
    Oh, ‘tis she that knew every trick of the game!
    She gave me a wink: “Come in, dance a jig,
    Sure you must now be happy you’ve sold your wee pig;”
    We danced and we danced, and I didn’t give a fig
    Till I found she had stolen the price of my pig.
