  1. Local Cures
My father knows a lady who lives in Ruskey about two miles from where I live. This lady lives in a house alone, she is old now. She has a cure for the "Whitlow". She lets nobody see her cure and you must go to her house three times a week.
She puts a plaster on for eight days, and it is very painful. If you attend a doctor first he could not cure you for a long time. This lady makes no charge, but she will take anything you like to give her. She has cured hundreds of people.
