To Dunree sweet I bid adieu,

    Songs.
An old song composed by Hannah Harkin, Dunree, Buncrana in Sept 1865. She is now in New Zealand.
To Dunree sweet I bid adieu,
Your lakes and braes no more I'll view.
Your hills and dales and fields so green,
I'll never, never may view again.
    2
And just beside your flashing sea,
There is a cot so dear to me,
That is the cot that gave me birth,
Where I first spent my childhood mirth.
    3
In Dunree Fort I often laughed and
    sported there my fill,
And watched the soldiers gleaming bayonets.
As they went through their drill.
    4
But if I do not see you more,
Or stand upon sweet Dunree shore.
Where ever I am to make my home,
My thoughts will be with you at home
