The people mostly went to Coleraine to purchase. Buying and selling was carried on after Mass. Is is still carried on. The article's they bought was tea sugar, bread, and tobacco. Money was not always given for goods. Labour was sometimes given. Sometimes the goods were bartered in this district. The words that were connected with buying + selling were loot, tick, change, and cant. The people counted it unlucky to have business on certain days. The markets in former times were held at cross-roads and the nearest towns. The markets are not held here now. They are held in Moville, Carndonagh, and Culdaff. The people who visited the district in former times were pedders, dealers in feathers + rags. The names of the coins that have gone out of use are four shilling bits and five shilling bits
