    There were a lot of land-lords here in Achill, it was the Achill Mission we had in Dugort, they stayed at Colony, they built the Colony village, and also planted trees in the Colony gardens. They drained the land that belonged to them and fenced it, they did not own all Achill. Lord Cavan owned the Valley at the time and he made a fence for a mearing between himself and the Achill Mission, and that fence is there, still stretching form "Mám" to the
