  1. Once there lived together two protestant men. One of the men went to a fair.
That night a man came to the house on a céilidhe and he stayed there till the other came from the fair.
In the middle of the night they heard a noise round the house. They looked out and saw a number of people riding on horses.
The protestant man had a gun. He went upstairs with the gun and pointed it at the people that were outside. He tried to pull the trigger of the gun but it would not go off for him.
At 3 o'clock he left for home and he was put astray in the field out from the house.
He was astray in the field all morning till he was directed out of it by a light.
It is said that it was the fairies that were round the house, that showed him the way out of the field.
