  1. A man living in the townland of Dirk was cutting turf in his own bog when he hound a curiously shaped stone with some inscription on it. He knew it was worth something so he wrote to the museum about it. A gentleman came to him sometime afterwards and took away the stone and he sent to man a cheque of ten pounds for it.
