  1. I
How I long to gaze upon those scenes,
    Round Rattoo's lovely spot,
    Where flowery shrubs and evergreens,
    Bedeck that peaceful cot.
Where from the early dawn of day
    Till falls the evening dew,
The little birds keep warbling gay,
    Round charming sweet Rattoo.
    II
And near at hand the prospects still
    Are sweeter to behold.
The wooded lands of yonder hill
    With valleys fair enfold,
Here stands the proud and stately church
With the garden in its view,
The farmhouse is the first you'll meet.
    In charming sweet Rattoo.
    III
Where fair green hills and wooded lands
    My eyes can wander over,
All around the landscape that expands
    From Rattoo's lovely tower,
Where pleasure grounds and groves of shade
The haunts of heaven it's true.
