    You tell me of the beauties
    By Ballybunion's shore,
    Where the Atlantic waves are swelling
    And breakers loudly roar,
    You tell me of that Castle
    That yet majestic stands
    But dearer to my vision is
    The wild rose by the strand.

    It blossomed first by Banna
    Transplanted here it grew,
    A dearer flower or fairer,
    A mortal never knew
    Thought Kerry's Cliff's are famous
    Its mountains fair and grand,
    Give me the lasting beauty
    The wild rose by the strand.

    It was even as I wandered
    Along the wave - washed beach,
    Among the towering cliffs and rocks
    Where work of nature teach
    And as my footsteps I retraced
    I found myself trefanned
    And in a rapture,
