  1. About sixty years ago a man named Tom Sheehan from Liscahane, Ardfert was coming from Ardfert village, and as he was approaching close to home he met with a drove of rats. He drew a stick and hit some of them, and in the morning his house was infested with rats. It was then he realised what he had done on the previous night to interfere with them, as they were sent by a rat-charmer.
