  1. There was once an old man and a woman who had four cows. They used to churn every week but no butter would come in the milk only like (milk) foam. One day the old man was bringing home his cows and he started a hare out of the field. The man called the dog and put him after the hare. The dog bit the hare and made him bleed. The hare ran away and never stopped until he came to a cowhouse. He ran in the window and the man followed him in. And what did he see in the corner of the cowhouse but a witch? He knew then that it was she was spoiling all his milk. They had lots of butter from that day off.
