    LIAM Ó CATHASAIGH
    Ní raibh Liam bocht 'na fhear siubhal igcomhnaí. Deirtear go raibh sé go maith as tráth ach gur luaigeadh as a sealbh é tosc é gan bheith ábalta ar an gcíos a dhíol. Fear cliste do b'eadh é. Bhíodh sé igcomhnaidhe ag rádh an aibghitir agus ag cur leis mar seo:-

    A for the army that covers the ground
    B for the buckshot we are getting all around
    C for the crowbar the crudest of fame
    D for brave Davitt his bright glorious name
    E for the English, they robbed us of bread
    F for the Famine they left us instead
    G for Gladstone whose life is a lie
    H for the harvest we hold, or we die
    I for the Inspector, when drunk he is bold
    J for the jarvey who won't drive him for gold
    K for Kilmainham where our tombs may abide
    L for the Land League our hope and our pride
    M for the magistrate who makes black out of white
    N for No-rent that will make our land right
    O for Old Ireland that soon shall be free
    P for the peelers that sought us for greed
    Q for the Queen whose life is not known
    R for the rifles that keep up her throne
