    If a person is going to build a new house, he should mark the four corners of the foundation with four sally' rods and leave them there over night. If they are moved in the morning he should not build there, because the fairies object to it.

    If you are going to build a new ditch you should mark it on the first day by turning a green sod, and leave it there over night. If the sod is moved in the morning you should build the ditch there because the fairies don't want it.
