  1. Once upon a time a man dug up a fort. When he went to bed the next night, he heard a cry at his window and a voice told him he might leave the parish for two years, because he took shelter from them. When his father got up in the morning the man that dug up the fort was gone. He never wrote them a letter because the fairies sent him off melancholy but he came back when the two years was up.
