They gathered all their friends together on each side. The two families that fought were the Mac Dermots of Mullinadara and the Mc Gauraghans of Drumderiglin. They were armed with black-thorn sticks and whips. They fought from eleven oclock in the morning till five oclock in the evening. The Mac Dermots won the fight. The Mac Dermots were the best faction fighters in the locality.
