  1. Long ago there were many famous men in our locality for jumping, stone - throwing and running. These are stories about some of them.
    Once there was a man who lived in Lenamore. He was a good runner and one day there was a race to be held near his house. Fifteen shillings was to be given to the man that would win it. Men came from far and near to run in that race but all of them were beaten and the man whose field it was held, won it. There lived another man about a mile from that place and he could throw the half hundredweight about twenty - four feet. About fifty years ago there was a man in Ahanagran and he was famous for throwing weights. One day he was at the market with a rail of pigs. A Guard found that the man was drunk so he asked him why he got drunk. The man caught hold of one of his own pigs by the tail and struck the Guard on the face with it. The pig was two hundred weights in weight. This story was told by
