The Local people around used to weave baskets with sallies long ago, but htis custom has ceased.Fire cranes and crooks for hanging pots on the fire are made in a forge, in the district still.Wooden Barrells are still made in the district of Clonmellon.Long ago, all the people used to use noggins, but they are all gone out of date now. My Grannie has one noggin left.Also long ago, they used to thresh their own corn with flails. On a wet day they would spend the whole day threshing with the flail, when outdoor work was impossible.
My uncle has a flail which he used to use, threshing. He used to put the corn on the ground and beat it. There were a long stick and a short one, and the two were joined at the top(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
