- Noggins or wooden mugs were made in Girley, six miles from here. They were made of pieces of wood a band of tine on them. They would be cleaned with sand.
- My grandmother used to spin linen. It was called "Linsee". She had a piece of land on which she would grow the flax. It would be plucked by hand and made in sheaves. Then it would be "bogged", that is step in a bog-hole for two or three weeks. Then it woud be "beathled" - taking the hard fibre of it - Then it is "hackled" by a hackler - taking the husks of it - Then my grand-mother would spin it, and Branagan would (spin) weave it. "Tou" was the part of flax that was made into linen.
