    their divilment. They put the corpse sitting up in the bed and propped him up with pillows and then they put a pipe in his mouth, and left him there. They went home soon after this and when the people of the house got up in the morning they almost had a fit
    There was an ould man by the name of Will R-- waking wan night. This man always lived by himself and he had only the wan room. For years before this man died there used to be a game of cards in that house, and Will himself was very fond of the game. Well on the night of his wake there was a game of cards there and there was no room for a table in the house and they had to play the cards on the bed. There were about six of 'em in it altogether and they were all around the bed and they half-drunk.
