    is they could "Skhip it Jeady, we don't want Nellie, an' thinkin that tht sounded good, they kep on sayin' it agin' an' agin, an' in the heel o' the hurt when Jeady washtn't skipin it quick enough thay began to abuse him, an thay tormented him in such a way is that he didn't know fot ta do wit himsel an' the wind up o' it was that he thought he fainted. When he woke up out o' the faint, it was broad daylight, an' he found himsel lyin undher the white thorn bush in the ort, an' the girl was bendin' over him thryin ta bathe his eye.
    He got up half ashamed o' himsel, that he hadn't acted decenter the night before, for he was sure that he was gettin his punishment, for thryin ta leave the girl to the fairies in ordher ta get away himsel.
    Anyway he washtnt long awake, until he heard somewan exclaimin "Ora Mike will ye looka this" here they're here the raskhals." Twas the girl's mother who was appearin Jeady found out, when he looked around. He began to get afraid agin for he was sure that she'd give him a ludherin' for thryin to run away wit her daughther, but insthead the poor woman stharted ta cry for all she was worth wit the solid dint o' delight, an' when th'ould man came along
