(Composed by Pat Byron Derrymore)
I
Of all the deeds of lasting fame
That would your noble hearts inflame
Theres [?] that one of glorious name
The Heapstown demonstration
II
Thousands there that day did come
To hear the sound of fife and drum
And celebrate wit music hum
That sweet demonstration
III
That evening just at stroke of two
All bands and banners that were due
Will Irishmen both staunch and true
By the far famed cairn gathered
IV
From Ballymote and Sligo Town
And Ballyrush of far renown
To plead their cause and win their own
Those gaels had hoped for like their fahters.
