    There is an old rhyme for marriages. "Monday for wealth, Tuesday for health, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday there is no luck at all."
    Matches were made in the district, and they are still made. Money is mostly given as a dowry. Marriages always took place in the church.
    Some time before the wedding the bride and the bridegroom buy the ring. They also buy some furniture for the house, and he buys her a present for the same day.
