    The children like the frost because they can have good sport sliding and building snow men.
    Children amuse themselves in a special way at certain times of the year. They gather black berries in Autumn, and sell them in the town. At Halloween the children dress themselves and put false faces on them. They go from house to house to scare the people and play tricks. Some children have a feast at home, and invite their companions. There they have nice supper, also plenty of apples, and nuts. They play ticks, and many games. They get a dish of water a put a halfpenny into it, and catch it with their mouths. They hang an apple to the ceiling and try to catch it with their mouths. In the town the children go into the house and ask money from the people, and
