- Near our house an old woman lived on a farm and did all the work herself. Her name was Biddy Walshe. They called her "the spinner" as a nickname.
She can be seen to the present day sitting on a big stone inside a gate-way smoking a pipe with two candles lighting beside her.
When anyone passes she falls on her face and hands and runs after that person.
There are piers there and they are called the blind piers. The people around say she was killed when she was comming through a gap with a load of turnips and fell off the load and was killed instantly.- Collector
