  1. Once two men were going from Kilmacow to Ballyhale in a horse van. They went into a house there and the woman of the house asked one of the men to bring back a bag of cabbage on his return. When they were coming home they went into a public house. While one of them was drinking the other got the bag of cabbage and took some of it out and replaced it with shavens of wood. When he came to the house he ordered the woman to empty the bag because they wanted it for some purpose. When she saw the shavens she got the brush and flogged him out of the house and he was never seen in Ballyhale again.
