    Miss Mary Hanley 78 years Derrelara Parish of KIlglass told me some weather signs. She said the birds are a very good sign of the weather, especially the robin, the magpie, the swallow, the crane, the seagull and the crow. When you see the swallow flying high in the air it is a sign the weather will be fine, and when you see the swallow flying low in the air it is a sign of bad weather.
    She said some animals are a very good sign of the weather. When you see the cat putting his back to the fire it is a sign the weather will b bad.
    She said the dog is also a good sign of the weather. When you see the dog eating grass in the field it is a sign the weather will be bad.
    She said the cattle are also a good sign of the weather. When the cattle go hiding in a shady place under
